Hidden Paradise – Kapas Island

Cotton Island, also known as Pulau Kapas, is about 5 nautical miles (or 6 km) off the coast of Marang, Terengganu. Due to its quick accessibility from the jetty, many locals and backpackers visit this island. From Marang Jetty, a speed boat will take you in 10 minutes to the island. The state capital of Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, is 18 kilometers north of Marang.

Although Kapas Island is small in comparison to its adjacent islands, Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang, it is nonetheless quite well.
1.5 by 2.5 kilometers (0.93 by 1.55 miles) almost equals its size. The island’s white beaches are referenced in its name, Pulau Kapas “cotton island”. White sand beaches, clean water, tropical woods, and coral reefs in the nearby waters may all be found on the island. It is marketed as a “paradise for diving and snorkeling.”
